The Governor’s Land at Two Rivers is home to numerous first-class amenities, including six clay and two hard tennis courts as well as multiple, dedicated pickleball courts.
Whether you prefer to play solo or enjoy doubling up with other members, our tennis and pickleball courts provide the perfect place to get your game on. While you may have heard about our amazing Golf Pros who can be found on our green teaching the ins and outs of the game, we also have a full-time Tennis and Pickleball Pro who can help you perfect your swing right on the court.
Before joining us at Two Rivers Country Club, Mike Prokopik was born in Philadelphia, PA, but grew up in Newport News. There, he attended Christopher Newport University where he studied Business Administration with a concentration in Management. His expertise on the tennis courts began in high school at the age of 15. He won a few junior tennis tournaments and was awarded the most improved player in high school. After having his own positive experience with a Tennis Pro, Mike went on to help younger kids in their classes and has been coaching tennis players ever since.
While he’s been a Tennis Pro at other clubs, such as the Kingsmill Resort and the Kiln Creek Club, his home has been at Two Rivers Country Club since 2008, working as our resident Tennis and Pickleball Pro. His favorite thing about teaching at our club is the beautiful scenery he gets to see while on the job, as well as how great the members are who he works with.
With 40 years of tennis instruction under his belt, Mike offers a variety of lessons, clinics, tournaments, summer camps, and drop-ins for men, women, and children.
