Among the holiday splendor of Two Rivers Country Club shines a meticulously detailed gingerbread replica of the stately Governor’s Palace. As a signature exhibit of Colonial Williamsburg, the historic residence is one of the most photographed, videoed and painted buildings in town. Save the date for the Club’s annual Cardboard Boat Race Sunday, June 25. For this exciting event, members create a boat from cardboard and race it against other teams.
Exciting news! Travel + Leisure has named Williamsburg, VA one of America’s Favorite Towns in their eighth annual America’s Favorite Places survey.
Readers particularly appreciated the centuries-old heritage and mellow atmosphere. Williamsburg offers both visitors and residents a unique shopping experience, ranging from rare volumes at Mermaid Books, heirloom seeds and 18th century plantings at Colonial Nursery to legit petticoats at Mary Dickinson Shop.
Also noteworthy, the bakeries received high marks in the surveys, especially the gingerbread at Raleigh Tavern Bake Shop.

The Two Rivers Harbor Marina and Yacht Club was the setting for a recent multi-jurisdictional maritime incident exercise and training, led by The James City County Police Underwater Search and Recovery Team and the James City County Fire Department Maritime Incident Response Team. This past Saturday, April 2, Governor’s Land welcomed home the remains of one of the first early American settlers whose remains were discovered during an archeological survey in 1990. Returning to what is now the first hole of our golf course, the settler—an unknown woman—received a warm welcome home to her final resting place. Two Rivers Country Club recently had the pleasure of serving as the host site for two Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) championships. Congratulations to Elsa Diaz, champion of the Virginia Women’s Stroke Play, and Mary Cabriele, winner of the Senior Stroke Play title!
The First Tee at Two Rivers Country Club just concluded its first spring season session Saturday, June 6. After a successful initial gathering last year to determine interest from within the community, the support was overwhelming to create a First Tee group for TRCC. Meeting on Saturdays over two months, TRCC hosted 15 children from all around Williamsburg who were at the “PLAYer” level, ages 7-11 of The First Tee of the Virginia Peninsula chapter.
