Save the date for the Club’s annual Cardboard Boat Race Sunday, June 25. For this exciting event, members create a boat from cardboard and race it against other teams.
The boat must be built with only cardboard, and you may use duct or masking tape, liquid nails adhesive, latex paint or varnish to fasten the boat. However, no pre-treated cardboard, plastic, fiberglass, wood or styrofoam are allowed. The boat must be propelled by the use of hands and/or paddles.
We prioritize safety, and every crew member must wear a life jacket (you can borrow one from the Yacht Club)!
Register your team by Thursday, June 22. The race will be at the beach at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 25. Prizes awarded for the fastest boats, most spectacular sinking and best design, so get creative!
